Warranty ? If a repairer says it can't be fixed, then either look for another technician or you may be just out of luck. BTW saying it's broken does not tell us much, and as such we here are of limited to no help to you.
The tech may just not want to work on the plasma set. I know one that won't touch a plasma set! Check out someone else. When I first read your post, I thought the screen was cracked; like iluvendo said give us some more info!
Call Lg and ask for an authorized repair shop in your area...most charge about $100.00 just to look at it...ask me how I know! My 50" phillips plasma would not power up, 1yr. warrenty just expired, so I called Phillips for an authorized repair shop. If any luck I would have at this point was a $2.00 fuse had blown. However he told me that it usually costs about $600.00 for this size. Good luck.
