Buffer levels?

    Whenever i copy dvd's, or create data disks from my computer. The write buffer level constantly drops to 0 , 50 , 100%. Because of this.. the burning takes longer.. the time remaining counter even reaches 0:00 before the recording hits 80%. is this a cpu problem? software problem? hardware problem? or something else? thanks

    hmm . i tried a lower speed (my burner is 16 speed dvd write, and burning at 4-12x doesnt make a difference... hmm still no response..

    my buffer levels drops down to 7% at certain points during my dvd burns but normally stays around 94-96%...but all my dvd's play flawlessly...are you having any playback problems?

    hmm..most of them play fine... i tried burning at 4x once again. took an extra 8 minutes over the estimated time. thanks for that link creaky, hopefully it fixes my problem

    Hmm, i tried that guide on the DMA\PIO thing. primary ide channel was already dma, and secondary was PIO, i uninstalled both. when it restarted. it was the same as it had begun. is this right?
