Hi all, hope someone can help me more than Nero customer support!!

I have just bought a Pioneer 107-D burner, great piece of kit,if I could do something with it!!! I am trying to burn an AVI file to disc, which Nero customer support tells me Nero will do, which it appears it will...if it didn't keep shutting down on me. I get as far as the select file to add stage and Nero just shuts down, no error message or anything, just dissapears.

I am using the latest version and have even gone as far as downlaoding it all from the site, bypassing my disc which, even though they haven't said, I thought might be faulty.

I am getting tired of sending mails to Nero and getting worthless replies, which have now actually stopped, I think I may have stumped them on this one, anyone on here have any ideas?

    All advice gratefully received.

    Regards

    Kieron Jackson

Well that kinda sucks...Did you try running the registry checker and driver cleaner utilitys?

When you try adding the files, are you changing the "files of type" menu to .avi?

I assume you are using NeroVision Express 2.

Have you tried .avi from other sources?

    This may be relevant...

Nero updated to 6.3.1.15 on June 1st. The bug reports are starting to come in with Nero 6 doing all sorts of strange things. I suspect the company is going blind with emails right now. Many users do say that when they re-install the previous version, all is well.

As I found in a different forum, doc409 helped out a bit, the new nero was really doing poorly for my machine. I started to have all kinds of bugs, even when i was using other burning software. Now, after unistalling the newest version of nero, i am bug free.
For the moment being, from my own personal experience, I would uninstall nero, (make sure you do a complete uninstall0, and either use another burning utility temporarily, or install an older version of nero.

Although I don't support piracy at all, I had to look for an older version of the app on a P2P, although I actually OWN a newer version of the software.

I'm sure they will be releasing a patch soon.

When you say "avi" tell us how you made this file. Some DiVx recordings are called "avi," so tell us what application produced this file so that we can be certain of its format. It will make things so much easier.
