I want to build my first comp, a real good gaming comp for around $1000. I need someone to pick out the hardware and links for a complete build. I also want to know if HP builds a good gaming comp. Thank You; Simjack
Generally, I steer clear of prebuilds for gaming PCs, as they're either woefully inadequate, or way overpriced. What sort of games will you be playing, and what size monitor do you use?
WOW and the newer games. Some online and some not. Monitor is HP widescreen 19in. What I need people to do is give me a list of hadrware and if possible links to build as good a gaming comp for around $1000. This includes case, motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drive, optical drive, video card ond power source. Everything including OS to build a fast dependable game comp. Thank You; simjack
Since you use a very low screen resolution, you won't need a powerful graphics card, so that will save money. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115207 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127394 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136152 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134

If you want extreme gaming, why not include a bigger monitor in that budget? The HD4830 can handle everything you can throw at it at that small resolution.
Depends on the budget. The Dell Ultrasharp series is my favourite, but they're not easy to find in the US, or cheap.
