Im building my very first budget PC and im not a huge PC gamer but wanted something that wouldn't buckle under some low/medium setting games if i choose to play one. I have already bought/ordered all the parts for it which are.... Motherboard: MSI A88XM-E45 Cpu: AMD A8-6600k Ram: G. Skill Sniper 8GB SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB Case: Corsair Carbide 200R Psu: Corsaire CX430m Optical drive: Asus DVD RW drive My questions are regarding the RAM I choose. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231518 My motherboard supports upto 2133 ram but my CPU is rated for a max of 1866, so I want to run this ram at 1866. Will it default to 1866? Also wouldn't the XMP profile goto 2133 by default if i used that? If it defaults to 2133 for some reason that would be bad for my cpu right? I don't want to do any overclocking to this stuff. Also if it defaulted to 1600 how hard would it be to set it to 1866? Ive read that you have to set the timing and voltage if you do a manual setting to the frequancy and that just something Ive never messed with. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Ive not messed with RAM in a pc in like 12 years so im kinda worried i may have choose the wrong ram. Also the reason i got the 2133 ram over the 1866 model of the same ram is because it was the exact same price and the case latency/timing were the same. Here is some links to the hardware for easy lookup.
