Ok guys, I am planning on building my first PC with some help from my friend who has built a few. Any way i decided to go AMD for the proccesor. I picked the 3700+ san diego core. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103539 Is this the best way to go, since i wanna spend under $240 for the processor, or should have i gone with the Clawhammer or Venice core. I have absolutely no clue on what to do for the Motherboard. I would like one with lots of easy overclocking options, SATA II, and a PCI xpress slot and under $175. Which brands/models have you had good experiences and bad experiences with. Thanks for the help guys.

I have a san diego the same one and its a good proc. O/c real easy. Epox, asus, and abut are good boards under a 100 usd with all the goodies. Msi is another good one, but not for newbs. Their bios are poorly written and have to be fudged with to get working right.
