I'm in the process of ordering components and I want to make sure this will work:

    ASUS P5GD2 Deluxe Motherboard
    Intel P4 530 3.0 GHz Processor
    Gigabyte NVidia GeForce 6600
    Kingston 1 GB DDR2 533 (2-512MB)
2 200GB Western Digital SATA hard drives
    Thermaltake 420W case

I would go with at least a 500 watt psu

Yeah, it looks great to me. I'm not sure of how great Thermaltake's stock PSUs are but if they're crappy then you will probably need a better PSU. Albeit, don't run out and buy the cheapest 500watt PSU you see or you'll be in a bigger hole than you would be with the stock 420watt.

I'd go ahead and try it with the stock PSU and if you run into random rebooting or crashes I'd go ahead and get a recognized brand PSU in the 450-500Watt range.

Hey, thanks. I did end up changing the PSU to a 560W Thermaltake. You can see the specs at: http://www.thermaltake.com/purepower/W0023.htm Otherwise, all else is the same. Now I'm looking for optical drives. I want to do some DVD burning and I take a lot of digital photos. Lastly I use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) just about daily. If you recommend any particular brand, let me know. I've been looking at Sony and Memorex, but I'm not sure what else is good quality.
