I have a built in sd card reader in my Dell laptop which appears in
device manager as working ok and most up to date driver installed. It
also appears in the safely remove device icon. However nothing appears
in my computer and I cannot find any way to access the drive. I have
windows XP Professional SP3 installed fully updated. Anyone else come
    across the same problem ?

That didn't seem to work. I rebooted and it's still gone from the device manager.

no. there's nothing for that card reader and there's one for a USB Smart Card Reader. no unknown device or exclamation mark.

If the driver package has an installer, try using that.

There is no usb card reader. It's listed on the device manager but I don't have anything hooked up to it. It's a Dell Lattitude E6410.

    There's no driver installer either.
