    hello,
I have a newer laptop that can burn + - R RW and have Nero. but the same thing happened when i tried copying a dvd with another dvd copying software i have. I am using sony dvd +R 120 min 4.7 gb.
the dvd i am using is NOT copy protected but is 3 hr in length and is brand new.
so i bring up nero and go to copy dvd. and nero brings up select source destination screen and i go all the steps putting in the source disk and then a bland disk and then nero gives a box saying the all done and successful complete. so i open the player and close it to read the new copy and the computer says it is BLANK! i use windows explorer to look at the contents on the disk, and NADA.

same thing happened with the other software i used.
somebody help please! I look on the underside of the blank dvd and i can see that it looks like is has been written to. if that makes any sense.
what is going on with such a simple process.
my father was able to copy the disk on his older computer so i know it is not the source disk copy protected.

I would suggest to try different disk. Possibly different manufacturer, Verbatim are good.

    ImgBurn cannot read this one.

File size is less than 3Gb so it should work on DVD5

I was able to burn the video to a Maxell DVD - RW disc. so is it that the sony DVD + R discs are no good or is there some configuration that is not proper. i have tried burning 4 of the sony discs but none have taked the image. the error is that nero says the burn was successful but when i look for contents on the dvd says it is blank and try to play the dvd wont work.

    any thoughts?
