Firstly, don't convert .avi to .mpg with Nero, because the quality is poor, rather use something like TMPGEnc to encode the VCD compliant MPG file for you. Then burn with Nero. I don't know why your CD is not working fully, media could be scratched, Nero could have burnt too fast (lower settings) or maybe you were unlucky. Follow certain rules to avoid making useless coasters:

1 Burn as slowly as you can
    2 Use decent media
3 Some also say only burn, don't run anything else at the same time, although I have never had any problems.

Also, if the VCD works in your PC, not in the standalone, maybe you did burn it too fast, as quickly burned VCDs can have problems with Standalones, or maybe you are recording over 74 minutes on a larger capacity CDR, which the standalone cannot read for some reason.

Either way, try some of this out and good luck.

Thanks Poul but I tried to burn it with the lowest speed 4X also I closed all the windows it’s the same :( also the size of my files its 600 MB & my CD capacity 700 MB.
About the TMPGEnc is there is any special setting I have to follow before I convert my AVI file?

    Thanks again

Hi Yayoh, in TMPGEnc you forget the wizard and click browse box next to video, loading up the .avi youhave (if it does not load up, go into Option/Environmental Setting/VFAPI Plug In and make Direct Show priority highest). The audio should select automatically. click the load button and select your video type (probably VCD Pal or NTSC, depending on where you are) then click settings. In settings select slowest conversion rate in video settings, leaving rest as same, in advanced settings select 1:1 and make sure it is 'Keep Aspect Ratio' Then click Start. (Oh, don't forget to choose filename and directory to save .mpg to). depending on the .avi it could take from realtime to days to convert. That's about it, I think.

    Good luck :)
