Hi apologies if this has already been answered, i couldnt find it.
I have a laptop with a dvd burner and rewritable dvds but when i burn my movies they wont play on my dvd player -unknown disc?
Do i need to convert the files?
Can I do this without paying for software?
    (windows vista)
    Thankyou

Downloads or rip and burns from your purchased commercial dvd's?

What process (programs) are you using?

What type of blank media are you using, and what speed are you burning at?

    The more info the better.

I want to burn movies made on my webcam and from my digital camera onto a dvd that can be played on a dvd player.
Im using kodak dvd-RW im burning them at x4 speed which is what is written on dvd-rw disc Ive tried using nero (trail version,) the video editing software that came with my webcam, windows movie maker and windows media player all these programs burn the disc and it is able to be read by a pc but not my dvd player. I have tried live and mastered format...i think i need to convert the movie files but as my computer came with an internal dvd re-writer i do not want to have to pay for software to create dvds that can be viewed on a dvd player????
    Thanks
