I am not a Nero Guru, but i play one on TV. :)
I can't see too many problems but here is one of them:
looks like DMA is off on a HD. Here is how nero says to fix that:
It also looks like you have Roxio installed, and you need to remove it as it conflicts with Nero.
Use the Roxio zapper to get rid of it:
    http://www.microadvantage.net/utilities
I can't see the version of your firmware but here is the firmware site list for the drive:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1727
These vision logs are a pain to look thru, and they don't report as much as the regular nero log. I think you should be able to find that log in Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core and look for a nerohistory.txt. I have nero6 so i don't know the vers 7 path.
Try those fixes and see if you can burn again. If not, post the nero burn log, if you can find it. If not, i will try to wade thru a Vision log again.

See creaky, you still have it. I didn't even see that ASPI corruption and i haven't had any nog today.
If you run Nero's Info Tool, it can check your ASPI, and it should look something like this:
Also here is what AD says about ASPI layers and how to install them:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/aspisetup.cfm
    and one ASPI
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm
if that ASPI doesn't work there is the force aspi option, but try the links first.
Here is bbmayo's info on ASPI:

Ok. I did all of the things you said and tried to burn again. It made it through all of the transcoding without an error and began to burn the project to the disc. After about 20% was burned, the computer ejected my disc and nero dissappeared from my screen. I don't know what happened but I noticed in the burn log that it said burn process failed at 8x. I find this odd because I specified it to be burned at 4x. I don't understand what is happening, please help. Here is the Nero log:

I checked and the transfer mode for both drives are set to: 'DMA if available"

Device 0 current mode is Ultra DMA Mode 5
Device 1 current mode is PIO mode.

Why is DMA mode not available on device 1 and how do I fix it? Thank you for all of your help.

I followed this guide To enable DMA back On by uninstalling its driver(s) by Alkohol http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

This did not change my device settings back to DMA, in fact it changed my secondary IDE channel device 0 from DMA to PIO. My current settings are as follows:

Primary IDE Channel - Device 0-transfer mode: DMA if Available
Current Mode: Ultra DMA Mode 5

Device 1-Transfer Mode: DMA if Available
    Current Mode: PIO Mode

Secondary IDE Channel - Device 0-Transfer Mode: DMA if Avialable
    Current mode: PIO Mode

Device 1-Transfer Mode: DMA if Available
    Current Mode: Not Applicable

Any Ideas how I can get this problem straightened out? I' lost.

I just went through this try to turn my DMA to ON. I followed alkohol's tutorial to no avail. I searched on the net for more info and couldn't really find anything I could use. Frustrated, I just uninstalled my Primary and Secondary IDE Channel. Rebooted and problem was fixed. Maybe I'm a lucky one, but it worked

    @solamf30 - that's what you're supposed to do to fix DMA :)

My Secondary IDE Channel current mode is 'not Applicable' for device 1? It isn't in DMA or PIO - Is this significant? also, I was able to get DMA back up on my Secondary IDE Channel for device 0 with anoter unistall/reinstall of the driver, so I'm back to were I started from.

That just means you have no slave device on the secondary controler.

I think I finally got my DMA problems figured out. My slave drive was disabled in BIOS. After enabling it and updating with the latest version of BIOS I now have DMA on both devices. Now all thats left is to see if it will burn. Thanks Maxburn and Creaky for your help.

Well, it appears that I will be continuing to take baby steps towards completing my little project. I was successfully able to burn to a DVD, but according to Nero CD/DVD Speed, it is total crap. As a matter of fact, it didn't even complete the test before it errored out.

And here is a burn with Maxell High Grade DVD+R 8x - made in Japan (Maxell002), burned at 4x. Quality score of 30! what the heck is going on?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Creaky/Max I've been working on a burn fail prob that ONLY occurs while trying to burn lightscribe labels apparently, in nero 6 for the past few days and checked a couple of your suggestions in this thread. ASPI - nothing is listed and under Nero ASPI=WNASPI 2.0.1.74.

Now I feel like a complete moron asking this, but I cannot copy and paste the error log from nero for some reason - don't understand why - any suggestions? Secondly, just to clarify, there should be something intalled under the System ASPI - correct? (If so, I'll need to follow the link you posted regarding that)

Only fails with one specific media, have you checked your drives firmware to see if it is up to date? Yes, you should have something listed under your system ASPI and it should come up green if you are using nero info tool. Follow the steps in the link for restoring ASPI. To copy the nero log you open the nerohistory.txt file with windows explorer, or wordpad, notepad, whatever, and right click hold down, mark the whole thing, then let off clicker and right click again. select copy, go to your post an right click select paste. Should be easy as that. Then you can go back to the pasted text and edit out serial numbers, etc..

You may have a bad drive. I hate to say it, but, those scores were terrible. Those maxells should have turned out better than that. What knocks those scores down is the max number of PI Failures you get. 3 max or less and you get a score of 95 or so. And many of your failures were not limited to on specific spot, but all over the movie. The only other thing i can suggest before looking at a new drive is, have you defragged your HD lately? Its a shot in the dark, but easy to fix, and a badly fragged HD can induce errors in to a copied movie.

What is your drive you are using to burn? I may have missed it, but it may not work with CD/DVD speed? If not, try scanning with dvdnfopro.

It's been my experience that drives that don't work with Nero CD/DVD Speed Disc Quality test do exactly that-they don't work. If you are getting a PIE and PIF graph I believe the drive is compatible. I have 2 drives that work with it and 2 drives that don't. The 2 drives that are not supported (Pioneer and LG)are rejected by the test. My Lite-On and BenQ work fine with this test. If you consistantly get bad results with good discs I would look at the burner as the problem. I have got a few bad burns from mij Maxell and even TY, but they are the exception rather than the rule. I have tried Ritek that was pure crap, however.
