I am trying to burn a movie with DVD Shrink and when i do the backup, it wont burn it says cannot connect trf. What is TRF can u help. I also have nero and dvd decryptor.
I found this thread => http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=65570&highlight=trf You have to burn the DVD "manually", meaning not with DVD-Shrink.
Let's see if the old crystal ball is working tonight. You're using version 6.6.1.4 of Nero 6. If I got that right, you may need to go back to version 6.6.0.18. Delete from the ADD Remove in the Control Panel and then use the Nero cleaner tools. Then reboot and do a fresh install of the Nero 6.6.0.18 (or move up to the Nero 7). Last time I checked, this download link was working, ftp://ftp.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe (copy and paste it in your Address window and enter). Remember not to install the InCD. The auto burn support using Nero with Shrink should then work.
I would use nero or your decryptor to burn your movie. Just seems to work easier. If you need a guide and don't know how to do that just look around at some of the threads. Also use good media (stay away from memorex!!!!!) and try to burn at lower speeds like 2x or 4x
Let's not go wandering off topic, it was a TRF error. Nero is the default, so it doesn't take a guide to use it with Shrink. It helps to know how it works. The links to guides in the Help are still good. Speed and media have nothing to do with the TRF error here. Plus, it's about time to analyze the CMC situation with Memorex. Obviously there was a problem there, but has anyone really evaluated the situation lately. CMC has moved on to sell media through a number of other brands and I've not been hearing the hue and cry on those brands. I'm not saying Memorex/CMC is good media, just that a lot of the bashing is second hand (everybody says it on the forum, so I'll repeat it to sound knowledgable).
Ok sorry about the wondering off topic earlier but just figured it was a media issue here. I did find though that the TRF error has something to do with nero. This is assuming you have it installed on your system. If you disable burning with nero in DVD shrink because from doing some research you can find that there is some conflict with the new nero version. Try going back to an older version of nero and burn with it and see if that helps.
Thanks to all for helping it was a nero problem I dont know why my version just stopped working. But I got the newest version now and it is working fine. Thank u.
crystalca What version did you have and what is your new version? bilg25 TRF, Shrink, and Nero were all mentioned in the first post of this thread. I think I said to revert to the stable version if one has problems with the 6.6.1.4. The TRF error has been a common problem on a lot of systems using Nero 6.6.1.4. That's why I mentioned it. If memory serves me correctly, a member at Digital Digest mentioned using the older version, but didn't mention the version numbers or supply the download link. The process of removing Nero as the supported burner in Shrink and burning manually is a solution to getting a burn, but not the cure for the initial problem. crystalca Whatever, glad you got it going and you're welcome. Sometimes software gets corrupted and it's just a matter of reinstalling the software. I am curious about those version numbers though.
Yes , it was the version 6.6.1.4 of nero maybe if i used the old version u mentioned it would of worked . I eneded up using the new 7.0 trial version whatever but when it runs out i will try the old version. Anyways at least its working for now. Hey, Have u ever used I Copy Dvd. Someone gave it to me but i don't know how to use it.
Thanks for letting me know the version. LOL Guess the old crystal ball is working still yet. Actually the TRF problem hit a lot of users. I didn't get that particular problem, but I had troubles with 6.6.1.4. It's not the most stable release Nero had. If I were you, I'd go ahead and use the download link if you intend to go back to Nero 6 (save the setup files to reload later); never know when a link will go dead. Nero 7 seems to be doing pretty good though.
If you look around you'll find a guide here for the I Copy DVD. Look under the guides tab and if that doesn't work just look around at some threads im sure you'll find it
