Hello all, I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. I recently purchased a new DVD Burner after reading some reviews on this site. My problem is that I been getting nothing but burn errors when I try to burn a DVD. I am using Nero 7 and the disc I been using are Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R (and I only burn at 4X). For some reason when I use my BenQ DW1650 I get the erros, yet when I use my older Toshiba SD R-5372 I have no problems. I am not sure if I did something wrong when I installed the BenQ or not but I thought I would post my last log and hope someone could help me out. Thank everyone in advance. Looks like it might be firmware related? Here is a link to the firmware page, and your drive.... http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2223
Heres something to keep in mind, this latest version of Nero is producing a lot of errors for no apparent reason and is considered buggy. It is recommended you uninstall it, run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and install this more stable version 7.0.8.2 from here http://www.filehippo.com click on Nero 7.2.0.3 and then select 7.0.8.2 for a bug free version.......if you're happy with 7.2.0.3 then it's your decision but if you do strike any problems then consider the change to 7.0.8.2.
Glad the firmware update worked for you. Gwen is right though.... I would definetly go with her version of Nero 7. See ya round!
The firmware worked great, and after reading the advice from Gwen I went ahead and did that. Even though I had not experienced any problems with Nero 7, I thought it was best to go ahead and get the bug free software, and all is well. Thanks to all again, you all been a big help.
