Hello! i bought a new Pioneer dv106 dvd-rw, and whe writing alwais fails it's writing the lead-in, then stopps. the media is lost. regular cd-r sometimes works. also 'nrg' images. tried several burning programs, all same result. only the TOC is written. Nero support even tried to help with no success the dvd is 100% ok. (tried to burn on another pc) formatted and installed winxp from scratch - same. Installed Via Hyperion drivers - same. updated the motherboard bios - same. installed adaptec aspi - same. reinstalled nero, and cleaned the registry - same. anyone have a suggestion??? Thanks a lot Tomer
Hi Tomer, What is the type and manufacturer of the blank media you are using. You should be using a DVD -RW so you can reuse it if the burn fails. Burn speed is not an issue at this point. Ritek and Verbatim are highly recommended. If you have Roxio installed, remove it. What program are you using to rip the movie with? Can you watch the ripped movie files with your media player, ie PowerDVD? You should have your burner installed like this if you have two optical drives and one hard drive: DVD ROM -> top bay, connected to end of secondary IDE cable, jumper set to master Pioneer A-06 -> lower bay, connected to middle of secondary IDE cable, jumper set to slave. Did you run Nero's Cleanpack? http://www.nero.com/en/631938356417810.html _X_X_X_X_X_[small]motorcycle racer computer newbie Sony VAIO Suzuki GSXR1000 [/small]
Hi the dvd-writer has been tested and worked fine on other 2 computers. (on different IDE channels). no Roxio was installed on any computer (including mine). only Nero. the image is 100% working. i opened it with isobuster. also tried both movie, files and ps2 game. -------- can it be the IDE cable??? (the cable works fine with the HD... and read all data). can it cause the writing to fail? Thanks a lot Tomer
Try swapping the cable. Do you get any error messages? Nero can make a burn log can you paste that into a reply? (delete your Nero serial number) Did you try the Nero CleanPack?
Hi i found a sollution took the dvd-writer at work. buy a simple cd writer to home. and stop crying thanks tomer
tomeron - I had same problem with pioneer 106 and nero. The problem was found to be the media. Now use Ritek G04 disc's and haven't had a problem, touch wood
