Your Nero is really old, current version is 6.6.0.16.

Is your driver external or what? If it's not then you got a problem.

You are writing too close to the edge, to correct this:

In shrink go to Edit>Preferences>under the first tab scroll down in box until you get custom> in box beside it type in 4300. (I assume that you have enabled Nero to burn w/ Shrink.

You are using horrible media, switch, I recommend Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Maxell, Fuji and SOny are fine but only if they are Made in Japan.

I will have to update it :)

    Yes it is external.

No i am burning with nero seperatley i used shrink to makje it smaller the used nero to burn it.

This is for a friend, he doesnt have a dvd burner yet, so he supplied the media, i use verbatims all the time :)

You know you can rig up Shirnk to burn w/ nero automatically? You can even do it w/ decrypt, as soon as it finishes encoding process it'll go straight to burning. You even get booktyping options.

I'll jump in here with a few things i see,
your nero is still not updated. The latest version for 6x is 6.6.0.16
    here is the link
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Downloads.html
    firmware is up to date
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1778
    says the latest is UYS1
something is gobbling up your memory, though this log is slightly better than the last one. Close down everything you don't need when burning.
you are still trying to burn too close to the edge of the disc. 4300 as a target seems to be about right particularly if you are using questionable media. Speaking of questionable media
not the best media in the world. Now i know many people are limited to what they can purchase locally, but there is this wonderful thing called the internet...
    see last remark.
I think that is a Roxio driver, and they have conflicts with Nero. That one needs a zapper to get rid of it completely. I am not sure i have a link to that roxio zapper, do have one for nero incd4, but i don't see that one listed. Also in the driver section, i think you should be showing your ATAPI drivers here, but that may have something to do with your drive being external. Try those suggestions, and try to get some good media if you can.

Did you do ANYthing I said? You still have an ass old Nero, and you are still burning all the way to 4465MBs. If you ask for advice and advice is given then plz just do it. And try an free up some memory via closing all unneeded programs in task maneger. Seriously.

And I didn't notice the roxio thing the first time but you have to get rid of that too using roxiozapper as roxio conflicts w/ Nero.

Didn't see your post maxburn, I see you've beaten.

I have done some of your advise, i am downloading the nero update, it is going verrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy slow, im still on package 1 i think its been goin for about 2-4 hours.

I forgot to do the "too close to the edge" part,

I USE verbatim, i am doing this for a mate, he supplied the discs, i dont have any verbs, as i have used up my last few discs, i need to get more :)

This only started happening, when we had to get our hdd wiped :(

ive got 2 discs left to try it on, and 4 discs in the set :(

OK should i try one more time?

would uninstalling roxio help?? i dont use anyway ?

    is this it : http://www.microadvantage.net/utilities/index.php?details=30#A30

Don't try it until you have those Neros updated.

Even if you use roxio it could still be in your system. Download that, it's only a few secs to DL, it's a real small file so just do and don't hesistate. Nero and Roxio conflict w/ each other.

I correct myself. The latest vers of nero 6x is 6.6.0.18 .
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php
Even i don't have the latest version. I will correct that one soon.
    @Alien13
Does the roxio zapper let you proceed anyway, or does it stop the uninstall? Just wondering, never had roxio and nero on the same system.

Cool, sounds like you are on the right path. Verbs are a good choice of media. I like Tayio Yudens, but they can be hard to find, unless you order online, or can find MIJ stuff locally.
I had a problem backing up one disc of sopranos season 5, and it turned out to be a bad press on the DVD. Had me stumped for a while.

hiya buddy alien~ :) did you receive my shipment yet in Australia? should be there soon if not already...anyways, even with the update on nero and changing the write limit so you don't write too close to the edge, i STILL have a strong feeling you WILL NOT get a successful burn EVEN after all that is done~ :) reasoning being, i KNOW that YOU use Verbatims, but the Princo's are really horrible...if you insist on using the Princo's, i believe you are still going to get the same error
regardless of ALL the updates the guys above suggested~ :)

DEFINITELY change your discs unless you don't care about the discs your mate gave you, i am willing to bet you are going to get coasters on your remaining few Princos, if you choose to try again~ :) yes, the quality on Princos is very poor to begin with, so they're practically "coaster" material RIGHT OUT OF THE SPINDLE (in my opinion), but, it's YOUR choice...the above suggestions MIGHT help in your situation, but even so...you got very little else to "tweak" if you are going to use the SAME Princo discs again...it's kind of a waste of time, IN MY OPINION, actually~ :)

    good luck

    docTY~

Looks like the others have sorted you out there. Andmerr also likes Princo discs, his excuse is there's apparently not a lot to choose from in Australia :)
