    I'm having issues with "backing up" DVDs using the following process -
    RipIt4Me (latest version) --> DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 --> FixVTS (latest version) --> DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 --> Nero 6.6.0.16

    The whole process works fine, and gets up to 99% complete on the burn process. It gets to the step that says it is writing the lead-out, and then errors out saying the burn process failed. 6.6.0.16 is the only version of Nero that has ever been installed.

    Error log below - running on a Dell Insp 6000 laptop.

    Hi,

    I suggest you upgrade to 6.6.0.18 by saving you serial number, uninstalling, running this tool
    http://ftp9.nero.com/attach/Nero-CleanTool.zip
    then installing both of these...
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Ner....0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

    Memory usage is quite high. Make sure you do not multitask during the burn...

    Also try better media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

    Shows a newer firmware.
    (Run DVD Decrypter>Tools>Drive>Check for Firmware Updates)

    Maybe slow the burning from 8x to 4x.

    Nero doesn't recognize the drive, but later on in the log it does.
    Ripper's Nero update should cure that.

    Edit your Nero serial from your post.There are wicked people out there.

    @Ripper, unless the member has prior installed a "buggy" version of Nero then there is no need to run the Nero clean tool, Cheers.

    @EricMCSE

    Not very good discs, follow Rippers advice,you can add Sony (made in japan) to that list as well.
