I can't find a firmware update for the burner.

The Moser Baer disks might be the problem - can you get Taiyo-Yuden (or Verbatim disks that say 'Advanced AZO' on the package).

Save the output from Nero to the HDD then download and install ImgBurn to see if it can get a decent burn.

You can also do use 'Test Mode' in ImgBurn; no actual burning takes place,it merely verifies that the software can talk to the burner.

I found Moser disks to be ok.. as good as ritek if not better..

Looking in the log one thing glares at me.

which I think is the cause then of this ..

namely.. the drive has seen there is a disk present, but doesn't have a burning strategy for it..

Give Imgburn a shot, then if still a fail check you have your motherboard drivers up to date.. It could be some kind of generic sata driver problem if it's a sata drive.

Other thoughts.. DAO can be a problem, try SAO or TAO strategy and burn as a straight data disk (files) rather than trying to burn a dvd..

Final thought.. 5 films on one disk?.. I wonder how massive the data actually is.. the numbers all over that log look screwy, but it's been too long since I looked at one in detail.. haven't used nero in about 8 years.
