    I have burnt over 300 DVD's with no problems,,,til now. All of a sudden, I'm making the dreaded coasters. It started after I installed the software for my IPOD. Here is the log file of my latest attempt.

    You have INCD installed and it conflicts with Nero. I suggest you remove it with nero's incd zapper.
    http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/InCD_CleanTool.html

    [bold]Disc Manufacturer: RITEKG - 04 [/bold] You could also try different media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. The power calibration error seen in the log
    is related to the Medium Error seen before that. This error is usually caused by media used and/or firmware out of date.
    Update firmware as Gwendolin suggested and try the two things i listed. Post back with a new burn log if you still are having problems after doing the suggestions. Everything else looked ok in the log. Also it looks like you have an older version of nero. The latest version of 6x has bugs, but 6.6.0.18 was bug free (relativly speaking) and it might update your Nero Express.

    Thanks gwendolin and MaxBurn. I update my burner firmware, removed INCD with NERO's incd zapper, and updated my NERO to 6.6.0.18. I don't know which one corrected the problem, but everything is fine once again. MaxBurn, I love my RITEK RIDATA media, I have burnt over 300 DVD's on RITEK RIDATA with zero coasters (until this problem). Thanks again for all the help.

    I think the combination recommended did the trick, I also like your media choice. Happy burning.

    @jmcole
    Glad to hear you are back to burning. I like ritek discs, have used them before, and will again, i just suggested that as a troubleshooting thing. For me, when ppl are having problems, and nero points to media, i usually only suggest Verbs and Tys to completely eliminate media, or at least reduce the chance its media that causes the problem. Nothing personal. Whatever works for someone is fine with me. :)
