I've read most of the info on the forums and the guides, but I still get burn failures EVERY TIME I try to burn a DVD. It happens with Nero, or when I try to burn directly from DVD Shrink. Here is the log:

Latest firmware is A187, from here http://www.btc.com.tw/drivers/zip/dvd_dual/IDE1016_A187&0056_MCU.EXE

Not top quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan)

Your burner doesnt recognise your discs, hopefully firmware update will fix.

You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

    Slow burn to 4X

Thanks for the fast response, [bold]Gwendolin[/bold].

I couldn't install the firmware because I got an application error:

The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read.

I have no idea what this means, but I'm sure it's not good.

Try removing Roxio, change discs and burn at 4X and see how you go.

Love my Ritek F-1 disks, not as good as the Verbs or TY's but never give me problems.
