In the process of trying to burn a movie using dvd shrink 3.2, I keep getting the burn process failed. I have anydvd running in the background. I am going to post the message I keep getting. I have tried two different media forms thinking it might be the type of
dvd-r and it errors with both of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    LILKAJUN hi :)
as J-Kwon has said edit out your serial no that begins
    1A20*******
you need a whole lot more memory you have only just enough to run windows.
512MB is about the minimum. so add another 256MB memory stick should help
you are burning right to the edge of the disc where errors can accure
set your target size in shrink to 4300 to over come this problem.
are you trying to copy the whole of the disc or just movie only

i'll have to leave anything else i've missed up to creaky

Nero API version: 6.3.1.25, nero is to old 6.6.0.16 is newest download and install

    Recorder: <TOSHIBA CD/DVDW SD-R5372>Version: TU53

firmware is old, TU56 is newest

    get firmware here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1971

    Physical memory : 246MB (252656kB)
    Free physical memory: 94MB (97168kB)

free some memory up, diable all programs not in use

    Recorder: TOSHIBA CD/DVDW SD-R5372, Media type: DVD-R
    Disc Manufacturer: MJC ME -

i do not recognize the media, quality media is a must use verbatim, taiyo yuden, sony

"The SCSI Command Aborted error message is a generic error message that applies to recorders connected via IDE, SCSI, USB, and Firewire.

This is a holdover from the very first recorders that were all SCSI, and it's from the MMC command set, not Nero. So this error message does not mean that Nero is only issuing SCSI Commands. :)

As to the cause of this issue, there are a number of possible causes, and it's usually a tough nut to crack.

    I've seen this caused by:

    1) Old drivers for the IDE controller, or new ones that are not properly working with the controller
    2) Old versions of the CD recording software
    3) Old firmware on the recorder
    4) Media that will not support the high write speeds selected (at least not with that model recorder)
    5) Conflicts with other CD Recording software, which is currently or was once installed on the system. Changes to the Registry from these other recording programs is the normal cause and only cleaning the registry after removing the software will resolve the issue. Which is why a number of times a fresh install is reported to have resolved a customers issue." This was written by craig campbell from nero.

    hi gurnard,

I have anydvd set to jump straight to the movie. But not sure if I am doing something wrong once I get into dvd shrink. I will tell you the steps I take and maybe you can tell me I am doing something wrong.

    1. I insert the disc in the drive and click open in dvd shrink.
    2. I then select my drive.
    3. Once it is done I remove the checks from all the foreign languages, then I hit backup.
    4. I then create a folder, so that I know where it burns to and click ok.
    5. It comes up and it fully encodes the movie, then it ask for a disc to be inserted.
    6. So then I put a disc in and a little ways into, I get that error message.

Dvd Shrink is set to automatically compress the file, do I need to change that? I will have to buy a memory stick.

Also, how do I edit my post to remove the s/n? I don't see a link to edit.

    Thanks,

    Lil Kajun

    Hi BigFatBoy,

I did as you suggested and updated Nero & updated my firmware and I was able to burn to disc. I'm hoping that took care of the situation. Thanks for your input.

    @LILKAJUN -

    - looks like the other guys have sorted it all out, cool.

all i can add is ive seen this media crop up a few times lately and it's too early so can't remember who makes it, but it's not very good quality from what i recall

    - this is one of the clues to Nero being too old, it's not detecting the burner correctly, it's having to guess. but i see you are having some success. Keep an eye on that media, for continued success, buy some decent media, otherwise you'll be back here again :)
