    This is a fairly "old" drive ! Have you updated the firmware on it?

    A look at FirmwareForum shows many updates ! here's the link for it :-

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1743

    I also see on your second log that you installed InCd -- that's only needed if you want to write to RW. -- many in here complaint that InCd is giving them problems ! I do use InCd with no problems !

    The last version of Nero 6 available is [bold]6.6.0.18[/bold]

    Download first package from here:
    www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php

    If you don't use the Yahoo! tool bar, I suggest you uncheck that box for the Yahoo! tool bar...

    I was running into burn problems with Nero 7 and Gwendolin's link to the DMA guide gave me the solution. I'm curious to learn more about the subject, especially why it's important and how it goes wrong, but the forum searches I've done gave me more hits than I could process. Is there another URL someone could point me to? Thanks.

    @singjai

    Hijacking a thread is not appreciated ! If you have a question you should start a new thread !

    Best you google DMA and you will get lots of information !

    Sorry, didn't mean to. It seemed to be on the same topic--since DMA seemed to be part of the problem I was having, which was identical, I just wanted to find out more relevant information on the topic. BTW I did search it and as I said, there was TMI to make sense of it.
