Do you have a dvd burner capable of booktyping? Do you have a +R disc in burner? Are you burning straight to disc or hard drive?

That is probably why your box is grayed out. You have to have a burner capable of booktyping. There may be some hacked firmware to flash your drive with to make it able to booktype but can't remember. I had an NEC 1300A a few years ago that I flashed with hacked firmware to enable bitsetting and it worked like a charm.

I'm rather nice with computers, although burning drives, not too familar. A tad off topic, but are LITE-SCRIBEs the only burner that can do dual-layer? And this booktyping. Care to redirect me to a post where mentioned? It'd be appreciated, thanks.

This is where I got the firmware for my 1300A at the time.

Litescribes are not the only drives to do bitsetting or dual layer burning. Pretty much all new drives now are dual layer burners. Only some drives support bitsetting though. It varies by manufacturer and models that have hacked firmwares.

I understand all that. But people been talkin' on here, firmware that's able to burn dual-layers? I didn't know that was firmware, I thought the etching that's done from the laser is strictly hardware, and must be changed if a DVD-R burner can't do a dual-layer?

I just downloaded it and opened it fine. Do you have WinRar program because that is the type of file it is

Rar files require WinRar, or another rar-extracting program. Zip files require WinZip, or another zip-extracting program. If you have a file extension, and don't know what to do with it, google it on the net; I'm sure you can find nearly extension, with explanations.
