Hi Ya'll I downloaded some freeware fom the internet (bittorrent) and i know im suppose to burn it to a cd (its an image) Only thing is that in the folder are 18 .rar files, 1 info file and 1 .sfv file. How can i merge all the files or just burn en onto a cd so the program will work Thanx in advance Greetzz
With WinRAR you can create a self-extracting archive(named, in brief, "SFX file", an .exe file that can be unlocked just by double-clicking on it, even if the recipient hasn't WinRAR). The SFX file can be created by selected a split file and contains many options, like the path to extract, the message that is seen when you unpack and so on, and can be seen by the unpacker whe he/she double clicks on the .EXE file. With WinRAR you may select the type of .SFX module and set a few other SFX parameters like a destination folder in the Advanced options of this dialog. I think that the recipient doesn't need a .SFX file, he/she just has to double-click on the .EXE. There is a full tutorial [bold] here [/bold]: http://www.smr-usenet.com/tutor/sfv3.shtml. I'm not an expert in this, but my opinion is that you don't need a .SFX file when you unpack a file. It just contains the options, and is choosen by the packer, for what happens when you extract the archive (for instance, a comment: 'This file has been downloaded from..'). _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Read forum rules! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487[/small]
