Hope someone can help with this one. My Lite-on cdr/w drive is stuck on pio transfer mode and dma is not available. It use to burn at 40X but now can't exceed 12X without over runs. I read that uninstalling that secondary IDE channel and rebooting might put it right but it sounds kind of risky to me. Does this work. Don't want to totally jack it up. Can someone advise. Thanks.
I tried the procedure I refered to in my original post and it worked. Now transfer mode is ultra dma2 and I can burn at 40X again. thanks.
