Hi, I tried a search but did not come up with much. What I want to do is burn a bunch of Tv series that were recorded in standard definition on dvd to blu-ray. I figure I can shrink most all 6 disc sets down to fit onto a 25GB blank blu ray but do not know the process of what type of files I need to burn to blu-ray. A link would be helpful if someone has done this or any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Chris

OK. Well to cut a long story short Blu ray has the same folder structure as AVCHD which you may have heard of. That means you've got two folders BDMV and CERTIFICATE. When you burn you only actually need the BDMV folder but it's contents are very different from standard DVD. However you can actually burn HD content onto a standard dvd (dvd-r and dvd+r dl only)in the AVCHD format and play it back on a Blu-ray player, although you have to compress the files. But considering you can burn up to 8.5gb on a DL that's good enough for me. Espcially as blu ray burners are still in their infancy. Anyway, Google BDMV/CERTIFICATE folders and there's plenty of links that will show you the contents. But, at this stage for you I don't think it's that important. Realistically though it seems that you just want something to convert your already compressed standard def files and output them as BDMV folders for burning. http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/ Download this program. It's free and very easy to use. Read the post first to get an overview of how it works. It will convert your files (mulitple if you want) to the BLU RAY format for burning, i.e the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folder. After that you can watch it back on your pc or burn it using whatever engine you have. If your burning on standard dvd remeber to set your UDF partition at 2.5 or higher and you only need to burn the BDMV folder.
