Ok, I have successfully copied two films (DVD) to my HD and one is less than 4 gig, so I thought I would try to burn to DVD+R with Nero. But I get errors from Nero that say: Required file 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' is not present Required file 'VIDEO_TS.BUP' is not present. Required file 'VTS_01_0.BUP' is not present. Compliance test failed What does all this mean" The movie (Breakfast Club) plays fine from my HD using Cyberlink DVD Player, provided by Dell. I also tried to burn with DVD Decryptor, but it is looking for "BIN, CDR, DVD, IMG, ISO" files and gives me error code: "unsupported file format" The files I have on HD are "VOB" I'm in zone 1 if this makes any difference.
Funnily enough what it means is that those files are missing and they are required to play the DVD in a standalone player. Read one of the many guides to find out how to make them (IFOedit can make them for you) or how to use the ones from the original DVD.
I guess I should not use the default setting on DVD Decryptor as it removes the BUP files. Decryptor automatically creates a VIDEO_TS and leaves one IFO file, but the rest are VOB files. Funnily enough, they play fine on puter. The question now is which files do I copy over to hard drive that are ONLY necessary for making a back-up copy on DVD+R? Would only one BUP file be ok, or do I copy all?
Not going to read a guide then? You need the files listed in your first post+ the one that has already been copied over. Just copying them over may not work, you need to read a guide.
