I burned 2 AVI's (XVID w/AC3) seperately to 2 CD's as data and now the video lags behind the sound by about 5 seconds consistently through both parts of the movie. The AVI's both play fine from the HD, I was just looking to free up space. Here's the stats; Burned first CD at 24x. Burned second CD at 16x after seeing this problem. Used Nero 5.0 to burn CD's, took about 6 and 8 minutes respectively. Is this problem because the read time from the CD is slower so the playback software is grabbing the audio quicker or did nero screw up my AVI or something else I'm totally unaware of? Should I burn it even slower or do I have to redo the movies as VCD? I did try to copy one part of the movie back from CD to HD to check it this morning but after 15 minutes it was only halfway through it and I had to get to work (wierd!?!?!?)
Well it could be a cd media problem of course but I must tell ya that divx movies and xvid movies playing back from cd's on PC's dont usually play correctly. There is also something else. When burning a few files to a cd as data with nero, right click the files and change the file priority to High because it will automatically be on Low!
Thanx for the tip Dela. I did get it to work, burning at 8x or lower the sound and video work fine except for the first few seconds of the movie or the first few seconds after fast forwarding.
