burned disk shows 4 movies but dvd players shows 2?

    i have been having problems burning movies but with help from attar and ripper i have gotten to burn movies but now when i burn 4 movies and then put in on my dvd player that plays div x movies it may only show 3 out of 4 movies or even 1 out of 4 movies on another disk.

    ripper says it is a codec problem so i am hoping someone in here maybe able to help me with this

    any help is appreciated

    You needn't have started another thread - I'll probably ask a Mod to close this one and then we can continue your discussion here.

    However, what I meant by that was that your DVD player may support the playing of certain codecs but not others. As xboxdvl2 pointed out in your other thread, you can use a program called GSpot to identify which codecs your .avi files use to play. I would start off by comparing those that are recognised, and do play, to those that you know will not play.

    We can then help you to re-encode the files if necessary.
