    Hi
I recently started using DVD+R (Mr.DVD). I struggled getting them recognised on my laptop to burn but that's been sorted out. I burned two of these on a MAC using Toast. They read fine on all other machines I have tried them on, both PC's and Macs but as soon as I pop them into my own Toshiba laptop, you can see a little disc icon appear next to the cursor, the machine slows down and when trying to see the DVD in My Computer, that hangs until i take the DVD out. I have tried a bought DVD and that reads fine, as do burned CD's. Its just these that will not work. Any suggestions why this is happening?

    Thanks
    Inge

    Hi there,

Some drives / DVD Players are picky.

Using quality media (Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden) and not burning at MAX speed helps playback issues.

    Is this the case ?

What's the MEDIA ID of your disks ?

Media ID can be found in a burn log or with tools like VSO Inspector.

What speed do you usually burn at ?

    Hi - thanks for replying
to be honest I don't know the answer to those questions. I think it was 12x speed but I can't check now as I am not near the MAC i burned it on. I just left the settings on that machine. Its weird as it will play on another laptop we have here. So there is nothing wrong with the disc, just my player :(
