I recently burned a DVD by adding all the VIDEO_TS files in my folder to Nero Vision and encoding then burning them. I tried to play the burned DVD on my DVD player and the color is black and white, the video flickers, and the screen has lines on it. This isn't the first time this has happen with a movie i downloaded. What could cause the video to be like this. The DVD plays fine on my computer but not in a DVD player.

Maybe because you are using Nero 8

I dont have any problems with the DVD playback as long as its an IMG file (ISO). I just use the Nero Burning ROM for that. It seems like i have to use Nero Vision when i have VOB, IFO, BUP files. I know im getting a bit off subject, but is there any way i can convert those files into an image file? Should i download Nero 7 to be able to burn these types of files, and if not, what's the most reliable DVD burning program for that? Thanx....im kinda new to this stuff

Imgburn can convert vob files to imsge (iso) in the build mode

Imgburn will aso burn your iso files to a disc (write mode) quite competantly so the resulting disc will play on a stand alone dvd player

    Imgburn, free from

My problem too. I have used Nero 6 for years burning dvd's and had absolutely no problem. The last 7 movies I burned played fine in my computer, but came out in black and white on 4 different home dvd players. I am totally computer illiterate, but trying to learn. I reinstalled cyberlink power dvd, updated Nero 6, scanned for viruses and spyware, tried different disk (was using Memorex, which I never had problems with before.) I never once had a problem with Nero until now. Please help me. I'm desparate. I read a lot of these posts, and I don't even know anything about vob files, ripping, or any of these things y'all talk about. Please help and talk me through it like I'm a two year old. Thanks so much.

Might be a PAL NTSC problem. Are you choosing the correct one for wherever you live?

If you have the clicker to your dvd player there should be a button labled p/n press it if that does not solve the problem then try reading the nero 8 options when it gets to the bun screen and write it as ntsc
