Hi, i just burned a DVD-R and watched the movie on my DVD player (old). And two times for about 30 seconds there was serious pixelation, choppiness, and slowdown. When i checked/rewatched those scenes using my computer they ran smooth as silk. So i was wondering if the problem is because i have an Old or crappy DVD Player or the burn was bad. Thanks
Probable culprits, Poor media, Too fast burn speed, multitasking while burning, not defragging your hard drive in a while. Please post some more info to give us a better shot at figuring out your problem, in the mean time, slow your burning down to 1/2 the rated speed of the disk, use the good stuff, Verbatim, Taiyo-Yuden, or Sony (Made in Japan or Taiwan) media.
Hmm, well im using verbatim 16x dvdr's and the max speed on my burner is 8x, so thats what im using, with nero. Im not sure how long its been since ive defragged, but i may have been running utorrent while uploading some torrents, that may be it, but i dont know.
When was the last time you updated your firmware? Check out the firmware page and see if you have the latest firmware. http://forum.rpc1.org/ Check your Nero Log to determine which burner you have and the version of the firmware you are using.
