In short, my problem is that dvd's I burn aren't playable on my Sony DVP-NS400D player. When I insert one of my DVD's from XCopy the unit display reads "No Disk" and displays "Cannot Play This Disk" is displayed on the TV. If I run DVDXCopy using the GearWorks drivers I typically make coasters. If I run with Nero drivers the burns run fine and the output is fully readable on both DVD Drives on my Computer - an HP9900 combo drive and my new Sony DRX-500ULX (external USB 2 attached unit). The output DVDs are also readable on my JVC table top. Where the plot thickens is that I have recently also installed DVDXCopy Express - when I burn a DVD with that it burns without a hitch, and plays on all systems. I have tried a variety of media - DVD-R and DVD+R, Maxell, Sony and a couple "generic" brands. Since output from DVDXCOPY burns and plays I don't think it is a hardware or media issue, but I really don't know. So far in my efforts to resolve this I have upgraded system BIOS, Sony DRX-500ULX firmware, applied all the latest drivers from ASUS, Intel, Microsoft, et al. I've installed all available OS upgrades from Microsoft, installed the latest version of Nero - 5.5.10.28 and have uninstalled and reinstalled DVDXCOPY 1.5.2. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to try next? I am having a similar problem. When I use the GearWorks driver, all burns using DvDXcopy are successful. When using the Nero external driver with DvDXcopy, nothing but coasters result. Can anyone help? Anyone seen this problem?
