I'm converting avi files to dvd files using divxtodvd. Some dvd's won't play on one of my dvd players and some will while all of them will play on an older dvd player that I have. Has anyone had this problem and do you have a solution? I'm using Dvd+r and dvd-r while some will and will not work. I'm burning them at 16x and 2.4x..same result.
might be a write error might be a converting error, might even be that particular dvd player doesnt like burned disk.could also be a region issue.what type of dvd player is it???what region is the player and movies???I personally use dvdflick which is free and that seems to work fine.
It's a Magnavox. The movies are region free because the software I'm using removes the region. We're in the US, so we're on Region 1. I'm trying DVD Flick now, because I"m pretty sure it's a converting error. The ones I'm running into a problem converting seem to be xvid files.
i havnt had much experience with magnavox dvd players.there not a top brand.if you do a google search "magnavox burnt dvd issue" you will find your not the only one and there are a very lot of people having the same problem as you maybe even a solution.if its not the player its a converting issue.dvd flick is so easy to use and works fine for me.post on here after you try it and see what happens.
A lot of people like to download movies and such from the web not knowing that they are in PAL format and NTSC. There may be a setting to allow you to convert these to the right framerate so they work properly. Also check you media type, burn slower on the computer for good burn quality.
