    Hi guys,

in the past years i've ALWAYS had problems burning a video with nero.

So i've been trying to burn some avi videos to watch on my dvd player. So i do the usual DVD video burn option in nero vision. it burns all fine, i put it into the dvd player, and 25 minutes in the video starts skipping and freezing. So i thought i'll get a new version of nero, and i did, and i burned the same video and same thing happened. So then i thought maybe its the video file. So i burned another avi movie, and again 23 minutes in, same thing started happening.

What am i doing wrong here?

I'm sure others have had similar problems, but i've been searching google for some time now, and its getting late, and quite frankly im getting tired of looking for an answer to no avail. I hope someone who has the answer can help me here.

    Thanks

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is.... well, you fill in the blank. Something may be in conflict with Nero. Nero normally works here for most folks. What version are you using? You might try burning with ImgBurn (free), if you want to burn ISOs or Video-TS files. First I would uninstall Nero and use a Nero cleaning tool, run Ccleaner(free) and defrag the HDD and reinstall Nero from a new file if it was a download or from an original disc. Be sure to save you serial # before uninstall. Google is your friend.

well the problem MIGHT be with memorex. but i've used memorex many times before and there hasnt seemed to be a problem with it.

as to the second poster, i have uninstalled nero (version 8) used the cleaner tool to remove it completely, then i installed nero 9 (which is wat im using now).

I have image burn, but i was unaware you can burn dvd-player ready movies with that.

    any other thoughts?

I had this problem some years ago,yes the first step is use good quality disk's,my problem was the dvd player after about 2o minutes or so into the film same problem as you, would freeze, skip etc it was the player in the end. After being on for say 15 minutes it was getting hot, got a new dvd player cured the problem.

Memorex stick's out like a sore thumb, use better media and ImgBurn as suggested and burn at 1/2 the rated speed of the media. Don't know about the other's but TY like's at least 8x. Nero should have a DVD burn quality check tool, think it's CD-DVD Speed. Also, check your successful Memorex burn's that are a year or two old, they may not play at all.

I got a pack of Verbatim DVD-R's. That seemed to do the trick
