Ok i burned my first anime DVD but it didnt really work. I got 8 .AVI episodes used TMPGEnc to change them into the correct file format then i used IFO edit to turn them into .VOB files and then seperated all the "VTS_1_1.VOB" from each episode i converted into a single folder and renamed them "VTS_1_1.VOB - VTS_1_8.VOB" and clicked on "Create IFO's" and made the .IFO files for it but when i burned it using Nero only the first episode would play and the other 7 episodes didnt work. Also, the subtitles were cut off at the bottom....so can anyone give me a little help here? :) i'd appreciate it a lot! thank you all!

Edge22, Welcome to our "Newbie" Club -

When converting AVI's to VOB's we recommend using TMPGEnc as you did to get them to MPEG2's THEN using TMPGEnc DVD Author or another Authoring program to get to your IFO's, BUP's and VOB's. These have to be put in a folder named VIDEO_TS (written like that all in Caps) then loaded into either DVD Shrink (in the "re-Author" mode) or DVD2One (in the "Join" mode). THEN you compress and burn to disc with Nero (in the "Classic" mode) or CopyToDVD or Record Now Max.

    Hope that helps,

    Pete

Well if you have Nero 6 try putting the original AVI's (you can mix PAL and NTSC) in Nero Vision Express. You can merge them if you like, create a menu if you like and add chapter stops. Play around with the bitrate till you get them to fit on a blank. NVE will then convert to DVD (it will take a while). It usually produces decent quality.

Where in nerovision can you edit the bitrate? or were you talking about in another program? and why is it that a 173meg file turnes into a 1.1gig file in NeroVision? >_<

Look under More-> Video Options-> DVD Video. AVI's (and Xvid, Dvix) are a more compressed video format. Using either the NVE presets or by setting the bitrate yourself you can change the end size.

If you have VOB's you could also try them in NVE, there is a Menu Option, you can merge them if you like and you can add chapter stops if you want.
