I have a Pioneer DVR-K15 in my HP "Livestrong" Edition l2000 notebook. Last year I had trouble playing video files, so I took the computer in and it was a software issue, which they corrected by renaming the cd/dvd drive as V instead of D. It worked fine for several months. Now, more often than not, when I burn a cd, it gets all the way to the end and then freezes my machine. When using Roxio it showed that 21 of 22 tracks had been written and then nothing. I just purchased Nero and it showed that 100% had been written but then froze. With either, the disk ends up with an awful noise at the beginning of the first track, then most of the files appear to be there. The only way to unfreeze the machine is by unplugging it and popping out the battery so it powers down. Does anyone have a fix for this? I thought it was a software issue with Roxio, but purchasing Nero and using that failed to fix it. thanks! brian
Onya, The most recent problems happened with an hp disk and a staples brand disk. I don't know what speeds....whatever the automatic setting is. brian
Please forgive the stupid newbie question....aren't all blank cd-r's the same? How are they different? What makes one better than another? Go easy on me please! thanks!
