    Hello Shiggi

? question do you say your dvd burner worked fine before you re-installed your O.S ?? and if so did you make sure that you closed down the sytem and rebooted in the correct nmanner? You do not state which operating sytem you are using? Win xp win 2000 win me

Sometimes when we re-install O.S it is nev er simple ??
hope this help a little, i have not ever used firewire myself, but USB (universal serial bus) is usually a very stable format?

Just to clarify a few things. my burner is a cyclone dvd revo that works on iee1394 ( Firewire). it used to work before i formated my pc and reloaded win xp. now it does not pick up blank dvd r media. i can however burn regular cd rs or cd rws or watch dvd roms. i have updtaed my system with service pack 2 also. that didnt help.

Have you tried a different firewire cable to eliminate that as a cause?
