burner undetected

    can anyone there help me ? i've got a Yamaha 2100E burner and it's not working with any burning software... the computer detects it, i can open software or music CD's using the drive, but when it comes down to burning...

    i've tried three different apps, adaptec's easy cd creator, mp3 doctor, and ashampoo burning utility.... in each of them, there is no 'CD-RW drive detected'

    its very aggravating! help please

    tried ASPI drivers.... didn't work..

    any other suggestions?

    is UDMA enabled for your IDE channels? how about firmware for your CD-RW drive? are there manufacturer specific drivers?

    I also suggest try using the latest version of Nero.. (free demo available) they always keep the software updated to support the very latest CD-RW drives!
