burner will not burn at max speed

    Hello,
    I have a 40x burn Samsung cd burner that I just purchased. I just went out and bought 48x burning disks and after testing it over and over with Nero Speed 2000 I can not get it to burn faster than 20x with Memorex media. I did however get it to burn at 24x with another type of Memorex disks that I had. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the burner? Does different media burn faster with different drives? How can I get it to burn faster? Any help would be appreciated.

    Grab the Nero CD Speed and give your drive a spin with it.
