I'm stuck and cant figure this out. I just bought an external 5.25 enclosure(acomdata 2195) for an internal dvd burner that has over 100 succesful burns on my home desktop computer. I am using it now on my laptop which has burned about 10 movies with the same burner in a different external enclosure which was returned because of excessive noise. Now everytime I try to backup a movie I get an error.... Again I have used this laptop before for backups, although very slow, and never received errors before now. Im using Maxell dvd+r media which burned fine in the same burner on my home computer. Can anyone help? As an add-on the burner works fine with cd-r burning using nero.
Your Nero is out of date, I would upgrade to this BUG Free version http://httpdl6.us.nero.com/software/nero7/Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe This will be one of your problems, to successfully burn you need at least 512meg RAM, I would add another 256meg, in the meantime shut down all unnecessary progs including spyware and dont multitask while burning. Not the best media you can use I would try a different brand, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden My source for firmware says latest version is A060, you have A080, may not be a problem though. Thanks for the quick reply. As for the memory I am planning on an upgrade within a week or so, but I have many successful burns on just 256mb using the same burner in a different external enclosure. As for the "YU5121L EWD532Q" drive... prob showing due to deamon tools being installed, although not active during burning. Any a/v and non-essential progs were off during burn attempts. Downloading the update as I am typing so will update once installed. As far as media thats all I have my hands on right now. Verbatims are my choice if I can get them.
Update didn't help. Here is the latest error.. I don't understand the thing about disc-at-once. I don't have it checked, so it shouldn't be an issue.
