I have a CD burner & DVD burner that suddenly doesn't work anymore and I cant figure out what happened. Within the past few days we installed a wireless router and Internet explorer 7. Does anyone know of any issues coming from either of these?? I've since unintsalled Internet Explorer 7, but neither drive works. What happens is it will start to burn something maybe do about 6% and then just freeze up. You can hear the cd spinning, but nothing happens. This happens with both the cd and dvd. They both worked up until a few days ago. Any suggestions????
internet explorer 7 can be uninstalled in ye add/remove.. but the system files that were installed with ie 7 can not be uninstalled
Okay, I finally got it working again..I think. I uninstalled Roxio and reinstalled that. Then updated the driver. After that it started working again. I burned a CD with no problem what so ever. I'm trying to burn a DVD now so hopefully that's fixed too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I perviously did try to do a system restore and that did nothing at all. This after I uninstalled Internet explorer 7. I highly recommend NOT installing IE 7 as it seems to cause some damage. That's the only thing I can point to as to what might have happened. Before I installed it everything worked fine. Thank you both for your input.
