I've got a project that is 6.6 GB when transcoded that I want to put onto a single DVD. How do I go about doing this with minimal quality loss?

People always talk about DVD Rebuilder with CCE when compressing DVDs. I know CCE is good, but it is very Expensive.

Basically, there are a two options. You can Demux the files and import them into an Encoder and have that compress the movies individually, or you can import it into DVD Shrink, which will compress your movie to fit 1 disc.

Option 1 will take a very long time if you want to keep the quality high. DVD Shrink is rather fast and the results are more than acceptible. If you are not familiar with it, there are guides on how to use it, but the most important part is the Deep Analysis feature. This will greatly improve quality of the compressed DVD.

Oh and I am just curious, what type of audio are you using and at what bitrate?

    Aha,

Realised my mistake here. For all other newbs, I've transcoded at far to high a level. By reducing the bitrate level to 5mgs it all fits onto the single DVD with space to spare.

....still plenty to learn in the world of video ;-)
