I am not familiar with the software you mentioned. But having converted your files to mp3 format, burning them to a disk with most any software should be a simple matter. Even windows media player can rip a disk to mp3 format, then burn to a cd. The files are usually treated as "data". Members here all have their favorite methods and software tools.

If the files do not play on your disk player, you need to know if your disk player is even capable of playing mp3 format. Check the owners manual. Find a friend who has a disk player who knows it can play mp3 format. Try your disk there.

    Hi
Thanks for replying...If i was to burn the mp3s on a audio cd it can only hold about 18 songs. I would like to fit about 100 songs on one cd. I know my cd player is reading the file but it's there are no sound

The number of mp3 files on a single CD would depend upon the size of each file. It should easily hold more than 18 songs! The capacity on a typical data CD is 700MB. What is the size of one of your mp3 files?

Did you try the CD on another CD player that is known to play mp3 files? If you are not getting sound on only your player, the problem would be your player. Try another player, what is the result?

    Hi
    A mp3 file is about 5mb...
I've tried the cd on another cd player and a car player and it's reading the cd I burnt but still no sound.
The sound is the the problem...I think i did everything else fine. Maybe i'm not burning the cd correctly.
I don't get it. It's stressing me out cuz I know you can burn mp3s on a cd and listen to it on a cd player and you can fit up to a 100 songs on one cd.
Thanks for trying to figure this out with me.

OK. You should be able to get about 140 mp3 files on a 700mb disk if 5mb is a typical size for each file. Since the disk won't play on other machines, there must be something wrong with what you are doing or the software you are using.

Try another method or software setup. I typically use Windows Media Player to rip a music CD to my HD. It converts to mp3 format for me. Individual file size will vary. You can select more size or less size per file based upon output quality desired. You can pick and choose the tracks and order you want. Add as many you can without exceeding the capacity of the blank disk. You can combine rips from multiple disks as long as you rename the tracks in the order you want.

It names the files as 01 Track 1, 02 Track 2, etc. You don't want to replace a track you want with another one by messing up the names when combining multiple disks. Just be careful with the naming process.

So, I have used WMP or Roxio to burn to a CD for me without problems and it plays fine for me on the computer (from disk) or another disk player. That disk player must be mp3 capable of course. I treat the mp3 files as "data" in the burning process. I suspect Nero can burn for you in the same way although I have not used it myself.

Sometimes I just use WMP or Roxio to make a duplicate disk. In this case it is not mp3 format. It still works fine all around for me, just not as many tracks on the disk as in mp3 format.

You will find many opinions on which software package to use. I use what works for me. It's simple to use and to understand. I have heard about Exact Audio Copy (EAC), for example. I can't install or figure out how to make it work. Baffles my simple mind. Try my suggestion, see if it works, and post back results.

Windows Media can make a cd with my existing mp3's?

If that so than how can I do it?

I own a Ipod and a PSP and I haven't had the need to make a cd of my mp3's.

Just recently a friend of mine let me borrow a cd he had and the cd has organized subfolders contaning 100+ songs. He didn't make that cd so I'm wondering what type of program can do that?

it seems like your problem is that your CD player is not an MP3 player.

the other issue is that you may be compliling it in a manner that is not compatible with the MP3 player (if that is what you have) i had a Sony Xplode car Mp3 player a dew years back, and it was very particluar with the way you had to put the files on and burn them. also did you close out the disc completely?

This is a pretty pointless thread really. 90% of cd players are not mp3 players. Most dvd players will play mp3 cd format.. Try a disk in one of those.
For normal standard cd players you must use .cda format files or they won't play, even if it lists the number of files/tracks on the disk.
My philips CD752 lists the tracks on an mp3 disk as "data" and will push digital data from the optical output, but no audio.

About time a senior got involved in this thread.. There is your answer. Incompatable hardware.. just like you can't play an audio tape on a record deck.
