I wasn't sure whether this should be here or in the advanced forum but...

I have a DVD that contains more than 8.5GiB of data. However, according to Nero and a bunch of other software, the media that it is on has a listed capacity of 4.37GiB. This means there must be no error correction on the DVD. So, what software can I use to burn a DVD without error correction as Nero and Easy CD Creator won't let me do it. I can't use a Dual Layer disc because there is more than 8.5GiB of data.

Thanks for your help and sorry if this is the wrong forum to place this in.

Where is the 8.5GB reading coming from?

Is this a data DVD or is it a video DVD?

This is a video DVD. When I copy all the files to the HD, the total amount of HD space lost is 8.9GiB. I also notice there is a VIDEO_RM folder in addition to a VIDEO_TS folder.

Just process the files in the VIDEO_TS folder through DVD Shrink. That should be all you need. What's the size of that folder?

just a point of information...... Nero and Easy CD Creator (which is Roxio) have issues with each other! Use either one or the other to prevent problems later! here is Roxio Zapper (use this to take out everything from your computer that is refered to Easy Cd Creator after uninstalling it): http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

or you can uninstall Nero and use the cleaning tools to make sure nothing is left in your system:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html

    for Nero 6 or 7!

    just my 2 cents!
