Burning after Shrink

    I am a newbie at this and I am running into some problems. I am using DVD Shrink and enabling the auto burn with Nero feature. I haev been able to burn several DVD's this way but I am running into some issues lately that I can't figure out. I have been having some issues during the burning stage of process, my burner would freeze up and not finish the job. I believe this is a hard-ware issue with the burner.

    So now all of the output files are on my hard drive from DVD Shrink after they have been encoded and all of that good stuff. However, I am having issues using Nero to burn these files on my hard-drive. When I load these files into Nero I keep getting pop-ups telling me that I need to purchase an upgrade from the Nero package that came with my burner. It is giving me messages saying my Dolby Digital 5.1 is not supported, it is also giving the same error for Dolby 2 channel. The part that doesn't make sense to me is that if I start the entire process over again from the beginning (using shrink with the auto burn with nero) it will not give me any errors and burn just fine. Is there some settings or something with Nero that I can change so when I manually choose this files using Nero I won't get the pop ups? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    What version of Nero are you using? Some newer versions don't support burning via DVD Shrink. Have you tried to create an ISO image and burn with either DVD Decrypter or Imgburn?

    unfortunately I am not in front of the machine that I am having issues with. I am at work and trying to do a little research on it before I go home tonight. I am not sure which version of Nero I have. However, I know that I am able to burn with Shrink because I have been able to do it in the past when using the "auto burn" feature.

    Also, I am not sure how to create an ISO image to burn. Can you give me some guidance? Thanks for your help.

    After you've clicked on Backup in the main screen of DVD Shrink and are brought to a new screen where you are prompted to choose your target in a drop down menu...select either ISO image file or ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter. You will need to have DVDD installed on your machine for this feature to work, but it a free programs so fret not. If you need a link to a download I can provide it for you.

    Where to start....

    1)You'll need to post a nero log to help fiind out why nero is failing to burn correctly.

    you can find it here:
    c:\program files\ahead\nero\

    look for nerohistorylog.txt

    2) It looks like you have an OEM version of nero that came with the drive, the OEM version is very limited, in order to manually burn those video files to disk you'll need the NERO BURNING ROM application, which I believe your OEM version does not contain. You'll need to upgrade to an ultra edition of nero or purchase a plugin from the nero site that will enable this feature.

    3) You can have DVDshrink create an ISO image file or a hard disk folder that contains the video files you'll burn to disk.

    Here are some very good guides that should answer your questions;
