I am not sure what problem your having with Nero as I am new to using it and only use it for dvds but for the best results on vcd's i have found using cucusoft avi to vcd works really good lots of options and the finished product I burn using Roxio vcd creator for some reason roxio makes good vcd but lousy dvd and nero for me makes great dvd and lousy vcd thats just my experience I know others may have different experiences cucusoft used to be a poor program but it has come along way you can check it out at cucusoft.com its not expensive and its finished files can be burned with any vcd creator software in fact you can get a free one from either cyberlink or intervideo good luck
