hi im using nero to burn a dvd with .avi files. they are encoding and then being automatically being transfered to a DVD + R 16x. My DVD writer only goes to 8x MAX. is this ok? because i asked someone at the shop and he was not too sure.

    thanks

    Hi vindiesel
What's the make and model of your burner? If your firmware is not update it may not do well with 16x media. What brand of media is it?
To check for this info go to Nero ToolKit>InfoTool. The drive tab will list the make and model of your burner and has a field for the firmware version.
Have a blank in the drive then click on the disc tab - this will tell you the manufacturer of the disc.
    Post back this info.

Finding firmware on your's is a bit tough!
What version # is listed in Nero? Who's the maker of the pc?
Pop one of those Maxell's in and post back the manufacturer - for 16x they have a few manufacturers and 2 ain't good.

For burning on this drive I would burn at 4x.
