i just downloaded a torrent using bitcomet. the torrent is a tv series in the form of a .avi file? i'm using nero7 to convert and burn the .avi file so it is playable on my DVD player. my DVD player can pretty much play any copied DVDs.

my question is, when I'm using nero7 express, i get to the menu and i choose Videos/Pictures. it then gives me 3 choices: video cd, super video cd, and DVD-Video Files. i chose the super video cd option because it said it would convert the file during the burn process. was this the correct choice? the file has been converted but it hasn't been burned yet because i didn't have enough space on the cd i had. the DVD-Video File option says i should use NeroVision to author the file.

this is my first time trying to burn a dvd and i have no understanding of the jargon people are using on this and other forums. for instance, i don't know what authoring means. can anyone can help me as to what steps i should take?

p.s. the file i want to burn has subtitles and i don't want to lose them.
