Burning avi files

Can someone lead me in the right direction,,i have a movie file,,avi and i want to burn to dvd to watch on dvd player,,what do I need to do?? Thanks

 

Need to convert the AVI to MPEG-2(TMPGEnc), then use a DVD authoring program(TMPGEnc DVD Author) to convert it to VOBs.

These programs have fully functional trials. If you don't like these there are others. DVD Lab, Sonic DVDIt to name a couple.

i have used winavi and convertxtodvd,both programs will convert an avi file and burn to dvd however convertxtodvd works best for me,i get less droped frames and the dvd quality seem to be better than winavi,the one area that need to be improved is the time it takes.for best quality it will take about two hours to convert a two hour movie from avi to mpeg.

 

I use all of the VSO's software..... ConvertXtoDVD is a great program and has much better speeds than it's former DivXtoDVD!

 

I have program to convert to mpeg 1or 2 but what do i use to burn after that?

 

you try imtoo dvd creator.its function is very powfull.
